Our Team

Chuck became the founding member of what is now known as CalmWater Financial Group® upon moving to Norfolk, NE in 1993. Over the years, he has focused his energy and extensive investment knowledge on developing 21st-century financial strategies that are centered on his clients’ retirement needs and legacy goals. This personalized approach to the financial planning process, along with his investment knowledge, has made Chuck a sought-after nationwide speaker. Following his desire to offer his clients versatility and a comprehensive knowledge spanning a broad range of financial planning ideas, Chuck completed the rigorous training to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional in 1999. Since then, CalmWater Financial Group® has grown to include nine other CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals, two Wealth Managers and nine support staff members.

The firm joined Commonwealth Financial Network® in August 2011, where Chuck has been recognized for his service to clients earning both the Chairman’s and Leaders distinctions. We are proud of Chuck for his service and dedication to his clients, which led him to earn these distinctions based on annual production, placing him among the top 4 percent of Commonwealth’s 1,700 financial advisors across the U.S. In addition, Chuck was honored to be recognized nationally by Forbes Magazine in aPRIL 2023, for the 5th year in a row, as he was named to the list of “Best-in-State Wealth Advisors*.”

A longtime advocate for environmental conservation, Chuck served as a trustee for the Nebraska chapter of The Nature Conservancy. His love of the outdoors is something he enjoys sharing with those around him. In addition, Chuck serves his church as a member of the leadership and development team. Dedicated to impacting the next generation and making a difference in today’s youth, Chuck has served as the director of the Norfolk Youth Track Program which currently has more than 500 club members. His roots run deep with the sport of track and field—he became an eight-time NCAA All-American in college in the sprinting events. You may also see Chuck around the airport in his spare time, as he is also a licensed pilot.

Chuck is a graduate of the Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in business administration (finance). The Olsen family enjoys spending time together riding horses, boating, hunting, fishing and flying.
